Summer Rental Rehab 101

In Exteriors, Roofs, Siding by wilkow

The folks here at AMV are passionate about our projects and pushing the limits of both small and large spaces in terms of functionality and design. While we like to be on the cutting edge, we believe there is a difference between trendy and utility, and that it’s our job to figure out which is which. Instead of creating just another upgraded bathroom, we set out to do something different. After all, who wants to be like everyone else?
The purpose of this space should be high-end and inviting. Think hotel, but not cold and sterile.Aleks@AMV
Imagine walking into a small space that everyone would expect to be your standard “water closet” and you’re greeted with a truly awesome and inviting room instead. We feel this shows off the owner’s creativity and vision, but also caring enough to bring up what may often be considered an unimportant room and convert it into an artistic retreat. It’s these small, but important, details that bring a home’s beauty together and also wraps up the entire canvas with a sense of completion.
Here we used large format porcelain tiles for the walls and floor. Updated the toilet with a high-efficiency model and a soft close seat.  A larger new window allows for tons of natural light balancing the illuminated mirror.

Materials Used:

Choosing the correct materials will pull a project together. Remember that it’s not so much about the price, but the quality and longevity.Aleks@AMV
  • 2’x4′ large format tiles.
  • 2’x4′ double pane and gas filled window.
  • Water saver toilet by Porcelanosa.
  • Soft touch seat by Kohler.
  • Polished chrome faucet and hardware by Kohler.
  • Hidden Light vanity mirror by Serenity.
  • Schluter Systems for waterproofing.

On this particular project, our client had a lot of input in the materials we used and did a fair amount of sourcing, while we filled in the gaps where necessary. We also used our decades of experience to make sure quality products were used to fulfill their vision and bring the project home. It truly was an amazing example of what a collaborative effort can accomplish.

Thanks for reading: We take pride in all that we do here at AMV and sure do appreciate you taking the time to enjoy our projects. If there’s something special you’d like to see, drop us a line and we’ll do our best to update the post or create a new one.
